Jerusalem, Israel, February 2008, Optimet is glad to announce an enhancement of multiple sensor integration capability. This option is applicable for various Optimet sensors. Based on this enhancement, Optimet recently completed a successful integration of multiple sensors in an in-process inspection solution. This capability enables a simultaneous profile and thickness measurement for high precision on-line inspection using synchronized multiple NanoConoprobe sensors at 3000Hz each.

Optimet Introduces Laser Beam Measurement System

Jerusalem , Israel August 2003 – Optimet, introduces their newest accessory, the Periscope, an extension for the Optimet ConoProbe, that can "bend" the laser beam 90°. The Periscope can measure inner profiles and surfaces of pipes, tubes and cylinders. When two systems are utilized, pipe wall thickness can be measured. This accessory can be customized in lengths up to 20".

The ConoProbe is designed for making noncontact, precision measurements of machine parts and tools, plastic and rubber industrial molds and components, automotive components, electronic components and more.

The ConoProbe measures a variety of surfaces such as machined metals and other relatively shiny objects regardless of the reflectivity of the surface. The probe can also measure at angles close to grazing incidence with the "Forbidden Zone" extending only 5 degrees from normal incidence from all directions. The ConoProbe is collinear, so blind corners can be measured with bending optics.

Optimet manufactures non-contact optical equipment for distance measurement and three-dimensional mapping of objects. Optimet's products are sold worldwide in over 25 countries.

Danvers, MA May 2002 – Optimet, the developer and manufacturer of radically new non-contact 3-dimensional measurement systems, announces that Acu-Gage Systems, Manchester, NH, will integrate the Optimet ConoProbe 3-dimensional measurement system into their non-contact, video-based measuring equipment.

Optimet's ConoProbe is designed primarily for integration by OEM users into their measurement systems. The technology is suited to on-line or off-line measurement and can be integrated into the host scanning or positioning system. While in movement, the ConoProbe measures up to 1000 points per second on the fly.

Throughout its history, Acu-Gage has provided leading-edge technology for metrology solutions. This integration by Acu-Gage will provide the first commercially available turnkey Optimet/Video CMM combination in the United States today. "With the Optimet ConoProbe, we can offer our clients precise, fast, point to point measurements of most any surfaces", states Acu-Gage's Lisa Caron. "Our clients find the reverse engineering capabilities that the ConoProbe brings to be extremely beneficial. The ConoProbe is an ideal complement to the two-dimensional world of video measuring by providing a third-dimensional contouring capability."

Acu-Gage systems, integrating Metronics metrology software, are used throughout the world in a wide variety of applications and industries. Metronics leads the industry in developing metrology systems that integrate fully with the world's leading precision metrology instrument manufacturers.

Acu-Gage Systems' Gantry Style Video Coordinate Measuring Machines design minimizes the footprint of their equipment allowing for larger measuring surfaces. The Acu-Gage "bridge" design eliminates the need for fixturing parts -- a critical feature when measuring contact sensitive parts. Acu-Gage offers the largest measuring platforms in the industry with standard measuring surfaces up to 48" x 72" and custom products available in even larger sizes.
