Jerusalem,
Israel, October 2005 - Optimet
introduces a flexible integration utilizing multiple Smart
ConoProbe sensors in one system by way of a fast Ethernet
link. By using a standard, off-the-shelf Ethernet hub, multiple
SMART ConoProbe sensors can be configured to acquire data
simultaneously at rates of up to 3000 HZ each. Using the active-x
software interface of the Smart Conoprobe allows the user
to control each sensor separately with the possibility of
a different configuration for each sensor, thereby providing
a simple, powerful solution for measuring complex surfaces,
thicknesses, lengths, angles and radiuses.
The Smart
ConoProbe is the newest generation of single point, non-contact
sensors manufactured by Optimet. The Smart ConoProbe measures
at a rate of 3000Hz with up to sub-micron precision on a variety
of surfaces, such as machined metals and other relatively
shiny objects regardless of the reflectivity of the surface.
The Smart Conoprobe is capable of measuring angles close to
grazing incidence with the "Forbidden Zone" extending
only 5 degrees from normal incidence in all directions. The
co-linearity of the Smart ConoProbe enables blind corner measurements
possible by using bending optics.
