Painted Aluminum Beverage Can Surface Inspection    

Executive Summary

Optimet's ConoProbe Mark10 with a 75mm focal length lens was used in can surface inspection. Results show the capability to measure different colors on metallic painted surface with the auto‐exposure function. The auto‐exposure function controls the electronic shutter enable to use varied exposure time in order to compensate for lack of light reflected into the sensor or for saturation of light during the scan.

3. Results and Observations

Note – In the scan without auto‐exposure (fig.2) some of the points are saturated and others cannot reach minimum total along the Y profile, whereas in the scan with auto‐exposure (fig.3) there are no missing points along the Y or X axes.
