Medical Sponge Case  


Executive Summary

The shape and size of a Medical sponge cases are important in several ways, one of them is in the manufacturing level, so robots can insert the medical device without any problem to the right specific place. The other one is that it will be safe during its transportation.
The request was to receive a high accuracy scan of the diffusive area in the inner side of the plug. The sample was scanned using a ConoPoint-10 with 50mm lens.
The problem is that sponge is a soft material, so only Non touch sensors can be used in order to verify the case shapes and depths.
We scanned it with ConoPoint -10 and 100mm lens without any problem.


General:


1. The report summarizes the scans and analysis done on the blue medical sponge inner case.
2. The objective was to scan part of it and show the grooved width and height according to drawing
3. The scans were performed using Optimet's ConoPoint-10 with 100mm lens on the laboratory Conoscan3000 scanner as depicted in figure 1.

Main Conclusions

Optimet’s Conoscopic Holography technology is most suitable for this type of applications. Optimet's sensor can easily measure inside holes of soft materials. Our suggestion is to use ConoPoint-10 with 100mm lens.
